about

‘When I Don’t Speak’ is a conversational and lilting song about relational uncertainty, underpinned by a uneasy droning sound.

‘When I Don’t Speak’ was produced and engineered by Ben Edwards, who was behind Nadia Reid’s highly acclaimed ‘Preservation’ as well as albums by Marlon Williams, Aldous Harding and Tami Neilson.

It comes from our first LP called 'Observance of Hermits' due out in September 2017

lyrics

It’s so damn hard
It’s so damn hard
It’s so damn hard
For me to say

Pass me the cup
Pour, I’ll say
Wait by my door
For to-morrow

When I don’t speak
I rarely know
stuck up and broke
oh you should go

My mother tongue
Was taught to wait
A grown man
Can learn to walk

When I don’t speak
I rarely know
stuck up and broke/
oh you should go

It’s so damn hard
It’s so damn hard
It’s so damn hard
For me to say
